Live like the notorious Pablo Escobar in this aptly named Casa Escobar in the hills of Caldas. This secluded house is like a compound that has the feel of a personal hideout. The property features an open floor plan, with large kitchen and dining area that is ideal for your group’s stay. The main house is equipped with four bedrooms- a king room, and three bedrooms with a mixture of six double beds and four single beds, with six bathrooms. Additionally, there is a guest house that has two bedrooms- a double room and a single room, with one bathroom.
Upon exiting the massive sliding glass door through the dining room to the courtyard area, you will come to an even larger sitting area that has an outdoor kitchen and pool area. This is great if you are looking to have a party and enjoy the incredible view from your own lookout. The pool is also a fantastic place to just hang out and relax after a day of traveling the countryside.
Caldas is located directly south of Aburrá Valley. It is encompassed by mountains that provide relief for the central mountain range known as the Andes Mountains. The Medellin River crosses at this point and is worth your time to explore. Caldas sits just 14 miles from Medellin, but is truly off the beaten path in the Medellin area. It is still close enough to the city for easy access to and from the major hotspots around Medellin. This is one of the best places in the Medellin area to explore the mountains, take in the wonderful nature, view some of Colombia’s most exotic birds, and truly disconnect from the outside world. Caldas is home to many different bicycle trails, horseback riding, and many other outdoor nature activities. The town is also known for its Caterdral de Nuestra Señora de las Mercedes; it is a beautiful big cathedral right in the middle of town that makes for a lovely Colombian scene.
